Mind Body Recovery Support
Acupuncture supports the Recovery Process by calming the nervous system, soothing the body/mind as one detoxes and learns to live addiction-free. Besides the actual small needles in the ear for 40 minutes, clients learn relaxation techniques for on-going self-help. Used in conjunction with hypnotherapy, group support is very helpful.
Integrative Psychotherapy supports 12-step programs that many persons find to be a powerful support in the Recovery Process. Changing attitudes, behaviors, seeking forgiveness and healing of relationships are all part of recovering the Self that has been lost through addiction. The Mind-Body connection can be strengthened in positive ways through psychotherapy, guided imagery and hypnotherapy.
AT MCIM, there are groups forming through the Fall in Mind-Body Recovery Classes. These classes will include acupuncture, hypnotherapy, nutrition counseling and group support. Call for information and help spread the word.
